Wallets & payments

How does my card know which wallet to charge?

Your card automatically selects the most appropriate wallet based on the type of purchase you're making.

Depending on your employer's benefits package, you may have access to up to three wallets:

  • Meals — for food-related purchases
  • Expenses — for approved work-related spending
  • Flex — for eligible everyday purchases

When you pay, the card checks which wallet matches the purchase category and charges that wallet first. For example:

  • Restaurants and food purchases → Meals
  • Work-related purchases → Expenses
  • Eligible retailers and services → Flex

If the matching wallet doesn't have enough balance, the card will automatically try the next eligible wallet. If no available wallet can cover the purchase, the transaction will be declined. You can view the reason for any declined transaction in your activity list.

Where can I use each wallet?

Each wallet is designed for a specific type of spending, although the exact rules depend on how your employer has configured your benefits.

Typical usage includes:

  • Meals — restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, food delivery, and other food retailers
  • Expenses — travel, office supplies, and other approved business expenses
  • Flex — a wider range of retailers, leisure activities, and services

To see the exact spending rules for your wallets, open a wallet in the app and check How this wallet works.

Can I use my card online, abroad or for contactless payments?

In most cases, yes.

Contactless payments
Before you can use contactless payments, you'll need to make one chip-and-PIN transaction with your card. After that, contactless payments will work as normal.

Online and international payments
Whether online and international payments are available depends on the settings your employer has enabled for each wallet. To check what's allowed, open the relevant wallet in the app and review the Additional rules section.

When a payment is permitted, your card uses the same wallet-selection logic regardless of whether you're paying in-store, online, or abroad.

Why was my transaction declined?

Common reasons include:

  • The wallet linked to the purchase doesn't have enough available balance
  • The merchant isn't accepted by any of your available wallets
  • Your card has been frozen or blocked
  • The payment was declined during a security check

You can see the specific reason for the decline in your activity list. If the reason doesn't seem correct, please contact support.

Managing your card

How do I freeze my card?

If you've misplaced your card or want to temporarily prevent new payments:

  1. Open the Card tab.
  2. Find Card settings.
  3. Turn on Freeze card.

This immediately blocks new card transactions. When you're ready to use your card again, simply switch Freeze card off.

How do I view or change my PIN?

Open the Card tab and go to Card settings.

  • Select View PIN to see your current PIN.
  • Select Change PIN to create a new 4-digit PIN.

For security, you'll be asked to verify your identity using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode before viewing or changing your PIN.

What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

If your card is lost, stolen, or you suspect someone else may have access to it:

  1. Immediately freeze your card from the Card tab.
  2. Open Card settings and select Contact support.
  3. Let our team know whether the card is lost, stolen, or if you suspect fraudulent activity.

We'll help secure your account, review recent transactions if needed, and arrange a replacement card.

Leaving your company

What happens to my card and balance if I leave the company?

When you leave your employer, you'll continue to have access to the app and card for 6 months from your offboarding date.

During this period:

  • Meals and Flex balances remain available to spend
  • No new funds will be added to these wallets
  • The Expenses wallet is deactivated immediately

After the 6-month period:

  • Your app access ends
  • Your card is deactivated
  • Any remaining Meals or Flex balance is no longer available

To avoid losing any remaining funds, make sure you use your available balance before the 6-month period ends. For further information, reach out to support@perkit.gr or your assigned Account Manager.
